The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the use of the MPF approach to solve for the responseand power flow for a T-shaped beam excited by an out-of-plane or an in–plane load applied at thefree end. The results of this study can be made part of the Structure-borne noise techniques roundrobin study. The results are generally as expected, mainly that at low frequencies the dominant wavetype is the out-of-plane wave, while as frequency increases the in–plane waves play a moresignificant role. A more more useful result of this work will come in the future when these resultsare compared to results obtained by other techniques and by experiment.
