Analysis of sound environment in Chinese city

Noise problem is getting serious more and more with the rapid economic and socialdevelopment in China. Therefore, the social-acoustic studies become important step by step notonly for improving life quality in China but also for making a worldwide noise policy. In thepresent study, a social survey aimed at exploring the current acoustical environment of urbanlife was conducted in Tianjin, a big city of China. More than 1000 questionnaires would becollected to clarify the following problems in detailed: 1) the main noise sources whichChinese habitant face to, 2) the attitude and suggestions of Chinese habitant to the currentsound environment in city, and 3) the characteristic of Chinese habitant’s evaluation onenvironment noise. Through the combination of social survey and physical measurement, thedose-response relationship of community response to noise was simply constructed usingICBEN scales.
