There are a series of strict limits for the postconstruction displacement of the ballastless track of HSR, while the subsidence in large area can lead to the reducing of ground elevation and instability of rail lines, which threaten the safety of the running trains. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out realtime monitoring of surface subsidence along the lines systemically. InSAR, a promising technology of monitoring small ground deformation, is compared with traditional subsidence monitoring methods in the paper, and it is pointed that the synergistic use of various techniques are promising for their complementary characteristics. According to the characteristics of HSR, the feasibility of InSAR for HSR subsidence monitoring is analyzed, and the reliability and superiority of InSAR are proved by some examples. The paper proposes the framework of HSR subsidence monitoring system, which fusing ground surveying and InSAR technology, and the distribution of monitoring points is suggested.
