A method for the analysis of diversity combining for the detectionof FH synchronization probes

The authors demonstrate an analysis method for finding thenprobability of detection of a synchronization probe burst when timendiversity is employed. They introduce an analytical approach that isncapable of determining the performance of a number of diversityncombining algorithms. The analysis uses circularly symmetric functionntheory, Fourier-Bessel series, and Fourier series. Examples show thencalculation of probability of detector for two threshold schemes in thenpresence of broadband noise, and in the presence of broadband noise withnbroadband tone jamming
