Epoxidation of Propylene in Fixed Bed Reactor Using Supported Titanium Silicalite Catalyst

摘要

Two molding methods were adopted in this paper to prepare the titanium silicalite catalyst used in the fixed bed reactor. One is the traditional extruding method in which strip TS-1 catalyst is obtained. The other is a new kind of molding method in which lamina TS-1 catalyst is made by spraying the powdery TS-1 on a small inert ball. The lamina TS-1 catalyst exhibits better performance in propylene epoxidation than the strip TS-1 catalyst owing to the shorter diffusion path for reaction heat, raw material and product. The effects of the size of the support and the amount of the active component were studied. It has been shown the lamina TS-1 catalyst using the smaller inert ball as the support exhibits the higher activity and H_2O_2 efficiency than that using the larger inert ball. The lamina TS-1 catalyst was used in fixed bed reactor to catalyze the propylene epoxidation for about 200 h and the result has indicated it is a kind of promising catalyst.
