Synthesis of FER Type Zeolite in Presence of Tetrahydrofuran

Hydrothermal crystallization of FER type zeolite from a reactant of THF (tetrahydrofuran)· Na_2O·SiO_2·Al_2O_3·H_2O system was investigated. FER zeolite with high crystallinity can be prepared by spontaneous crystallization in the reactant. TG/DTG/DTA and ~(13)C MAS NMR spectra prove that THF molecules are incorporated in the pores of the zeolite. The influence of SiO_2/Al_2O_3 molar ratio, alkalinity, amount of template and reaction temperature on the synthesis of the zeolite was explored as well.
