GREEN CORRIDORS IN SWEDEN – A GOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION STEERS THE SECOND PHASE

Green Corridors aim at enabling large scale transport solutions that are sustainable withminimum environmental constrain. Tools for this are a sufficient infrastructure, smarttechnology, innovative business models and supporting regulations. Green Corridors shouldhelp out to accomplish economic development through efficient transport logistics and do thisin a sustainable way. This paper gives an overview of how the Swedish Governmentapproaches the second phase of implementing the Green Corridor concept in Sweden. TheTransport and Maritime Administrations together with VINNOVA, the SwedishGovernmental Agency for Innovation Systems, have been appointed to form a commission forGreen corridors to further strengthen and speed up the implementation of Green Corridors inSweden and Europe.
