East Japan Railway Company and Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.Developed 3D laser radar obstacle detection system for railroad crossing. Detection target ofconventional obstacle detection system is large size object for example vehicle. 3D laser radarobstacle detection system that was installed in real railroad crossing certified obstacles(vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, and so on) could detect. This system recognize obstacle onbasis of object existence time in given several area that consist of railroad crossing.
