Surface albedo is a key parameter in ecological process modelling, monitoring of land surface dynamics and earth-atmosphere energy balance. The main objective of this paper is to explore the impact of albedo on land surface temperature (LST), normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), air temperature, air humidity and rainfall which are used to surface ecological modeling and monitoring. Firstly, albedo, LST and NDVI are retrieved using geometric and atmospheric corrected NOAA.AVHRR imagery and averaged for yearly and monthly from 1981 to 2000. Then, other factors obtained over 194 weather stations across the country are converted into grids via spatial interpolation. Finally, the relationship between albedo and abovementioned bio/geophysical variables is examined with inter-comparison and analysis of their spatio-temporal variability during 1981-2000.
