In consideration of the fact that the lack of wave observation data madein difficult to obtain deep water wave factors, a wave model of YW-WAMwas established based on the observed data of wind field and theuniversal mathematical model WAM, which could provide rationaldesign wave parameters for coastal engineering. the result ofcalculation with this model shows that the maximal relative error ofwave height obtained with the model is 7% as compared with themeasured data under the same wind field, while the maximal relativeerrors of wave height obtained by means of Code of Hydrology for SeaHarbor, Code of Design of Levee Project and SMB formula are10%,30%,and 40% .respectively as compared with the measured data,therefore ,YW-WAM model can be applied to coastal engineering.
