摘要

In offshore wind energy sector there are many different conceptualwind turbine structures depending on the water depth from traditionalmono-pile structures to floating platforms. Decisions made before theformal design phase define strongly the costs and benefits gainedthrough the whole lifecycle of a wind turbine. Management ofreliability, availability, maintainability and safety issues (RAMS) areessential as early as possible in the beginning of turbine conceptualdesign phase. This paper presents guidelines to compare differentoffshore wind energy assets and their critical components from systemavailability and safety point of view. Classification and evaluationcriteria for different RAMS+I (Reliability, Availability,Maintainability, Safety and Inspectability) factors are outlined anddiscussed.
