Trends in the Web Coverage of Solar Power Technologies, Initiatives and Applications

摘要

This paper presents methodology and preliminary results of a project to monitor trends in the global coverage of solar power by electronic mass media, corporate Web sites, and the online activities of environmental nonprofit organizations. It considers a wide range of parameters derived from structural and textual analysis. The resulting indicators describe complex developments that can hardly be observed and quantified in traditional ways. Word lists and lexical tables are used to identify semantic relationships, which are then processed and visualized by means of correspondence analysis and related principal axis methods.
