Study on Burning Clinker Using Matrix Cementing Component in Waste Concrete as a Raw Material Component

This paper primarily studied burning clinker using the matrix cementing component (MCC) in waste concrete as a raw material component. The aggregate and matrix cementing component(MCC) in waste concrete was separated through thermal treatment, adding of surfactant and mechanical comminution methods. Clinker was turn at 1400°C and 1450'C by using the raw meal with different proportion of MCC. The structure and mechanical properties of clinker are measured. The measurement results indicate that the MCC can be used as a raw material component to burn clinker. When the proportion of MCC is 20%, compressive strength of clinker has little difference compared with the that prepared by normal raw meal. XRD and SEM results indicate that no evident different compound composition exists between the clinker burned by the raw meal with MCC and normal raw meal. The clinker burning mechanism was analysed according to the crystal seeds theory and the activity of the dehydrated phase.
