Simulating Radio Channel Statistics Using Ray Based Prediction Codes

Advance radio system designs have been studied that are intended to overcome, and even take advantage of the multipath nature of the radio channel in urban environments. The efficient design and evaluation of such systems requires knowledge of various higher order channel statistics. Measurements of the channel statistics are expensive to carry out, and are usually done in only a few locations. To overcome these limitations we have used a 3D ray tracing code to carry out Monte Carlo simulations of various channel statistics.
