The Bang Mark coal deposit is situated at the Krabi mine in the Tertiary Krabi basin, Southern Thailand The coal, which is low rank (ranges from lignite to sub-bituminous), is about 7 to 20 m thickness.The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive description of the composition, character and depositional environment of the coal seams in the Bang Mark deposit in the Krabi Basin using coal petrography.
