Recently, studies of mobile ad hoc networks are hot topics. And in mobile ad hoc networks, some routing protocols which make routing decisions based on information about node locations are proposed and are watched with keen interest. These routing protocols are known as Geographical Forwarding and achieve scalability under increasing number of nodes in networks and increasing mobility rate. Greedy Forwarding algorithm was proposed in (Karp & Kung, 2000). In multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks, it is important to control transmission power to reduce interference and power consumption, because wireless links have significantly lower capacity than wired links and most of nodes operate on battery. Therefore in this paper we propose adaptive transmission power control technique for Greedy Forwarding.
