High-resolution post-production-- evolution in the video compositing suite

Powerful graphics supercomputers are being introduced into video post-production houses alongside dedicated, black-box video compositing hardware because of their production and creative flexibility and their ability to transparently manipulate digitized film images. The arrival of the resolution-independent digital film workstation is part of the continuing evolution of video post-production. This paper will describe some of the new trends occurring in post-production by describing some of the unique features and operational benefits of the CINEON Digital Film Workstation. Since success in this industry depends on staying on the leading edge of technology, a view of the post-production facility of the future is also given.
