The paper presents results of comprehensive analyses of linear and nonlinear computations of induced vibrations in the interior of a PWR reactor building subjected to different load-time functions based on the German "RSK aircraft" (mass 201, impact speed 215 m/s). The treated load functions include the standard RSK function as well as modified functions with different load gradients at the time of the engines impact phase. The resulting floor response spectra in the interior of the building at locations of representative components are evaluated and compared. Consideration of nonlinear material effects leads to lower acceleration response values in the frequency range between 10 and 30 Hz. For higher frequencies above 30 Hz, the nonlinear response values are sometimes even higher than the linear values.
