Indoor Cables for FTTH Applications, Allowing Quick and Simple Subscriber Connection

摘要

This paper presents the solutions for optical cables specially developed for riser and horizontal indoor installation in apartment blocks (multi dwelling units), with the aim of reducing both field labour and the need for skilled installation staff, permitting a cheaper take-up rate.The proposed cable families include: riser cables ranging from 12 fo up to 96 fo, based on fibre microbundles; riser cables ranging from 12 fo up to 48 fo, based on easy-strip tight buffered fibres; horizontal subscriber cables with 1 or 2 easy-strip tight buffered fibres.The fibres used in all the mentioned cables are of the bend-insensitive G.657 type.
