Splice Welding of the Metal Tapes with Automatic Laser Welding Machine

Telecommunication cable industry is nowadays facing more and more demands regarding the productivity and efficiency and because of that all production phases has to be re considered. Sheathing of the cable is the last production phase and in that way the material costs witch are committed to the cable core in previous manufacturing phases are the most remarkable in this phase. Avoid of the scrap is essential but at the same time we should not forgive the productivity. Various cable constructions includes longitudinal metal tapes and for the manufacturing of these cables tape splicing is needed because the standard delivery lengths of the tapes are clearly shorter than typical cable lengths and due to that each cable includes normally several splices of the metal tape. Traditionally there has been several different splicing methods where the manual or semi-manual welding procedure has been done for the over lapped tapes after removing the polymer coating and some times even some additives has been needed for the splice welding.
