New Developments in the Use of Nanotubes in Elastomers

Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNT) have been in commercial use as a conductive additive for thermoplastics since the early 1990's. Data was presented at IWCS 2003 showing that multiwall nanotubes may act as a flame retardant. Recently, MWNT been used as a conductive additive for elastomers. This presentation will review these new developments.
