China is seriously deficient in water resource. However, most of mine wastewater is directly discharged daily, which not only wastes precious water resource but also pollutes and harms the environment. Only little is disposed and recycled with traditional technology at a high cost. Suspended solids are the most primary pollutant in mine wastewater. Goaf which is full of broken stones has many interstices with different sizes suitable for filtering and purifying wastewater. This paper mainly explores the methods and mechanisms of wastewater treatment by Goaf under colliery so as to utilize the mine wastewater effectively and economically. Wastewater disposed can be used for removing dust under colliery directly as well as domestic utilization or industrial production on the ground, which produces remarkable benefits of economy, environment and society compared with traditional technology.
