Located at Lhasa, the capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, and considered as the world's highest and largest urban natural wetland, Lhalu wetland will moderate and improve the city's climate by absorbing 78,800 tons of carbon dioxide and adding 57,300 tons of oxygen every year. The sum of the average concentrations of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soil from Lhalu wetland is 82.45 ng/g, and the sum of the highest concentration in the samples is 195.07 ng/g. The average concentration of benzo[a]pyrene is 2.22 ng/g and the highest that is 5.47 ng/g. There are both of light and heavy molecular weight PAHs in Lhalu wetland soil. The PAHs in soil from Lhalu wetland come from atmosphere transportation, there are 47.44% PAHs from particles and 52.56% PAHs from gas phase in Lhalu wetland.
