A numerical model for landfill gas transport and migration is established, which includes the gas flow model and gas transport model. Solutions to the coupled equations are accomplished by finite difference method. The numerical model is used to predict the temporal and spatial distribution of landfill gas concentrations. Results show that pressure gradients and water content changes are the primary driving forces in the migration of landfill gas, which has a large impact on gas migration behavior changes. The numerical simulation results give specific scientific evaluation to forecasting environment disaster, which are provided the theory basis for engineering design of security control in landfill. It is very valuable to prevention and cure ground water, air pollution and landfill gas resources utilization.
