A new idea that the two-phase anaerobic-aerobic treatment technology coming out of one- phase anaerobic biological treatment technique is applied to the treatment of wastewater discharged from Chinese Traditional Medicine production has been presented in this article. The results of field experiment on wastewater with this treatment process from the production of Chinese Traditional Medicine Erkangning and Jizhitangjiang at Chongqing Taiji Group show that the treated wastewater, with COD at 78.5 mg/L; BOD 18.7 mg/L; SS 45 mg/L; chromaticity color 7, completely conforms to the effluent standard GB8978-1996. In addition, the operational cost of the treatment technique in question is far less than that of the traditional activated sludge treatment.
