Urbanization and Sustainable Development of Cities in China

摘要

In the process of Chinese Urbanization, the number and scale of cities and the level of urbanization got developed very quickly. Cities spatial pattern and system became perfect. The mechanism of relationship between cities had been enhanced continually. But in the process of urbanization, people come to realize that the rate of economic development cannot keep up with the urbanization, and the contradiction among population, resource, environment, which are the main elements supporting cities to develop, turn to severity. Inner and outer matters of cities cause these contradictions. So we should develop in a sustainable way, improve the quality of citizen; enhance people's consciousness of saving resource arid protecting environment.
