Strip Casting is on the threshold in becoming a commercialised technology. This process is the most recent innovative steel casting technology that integrates casting and rolling. Economic just-in-time hot band production in small order lots can be realised by direct casting of strip. The EUROSTRIP~R process has been matured in the last decade by ARCELOR, TK-Steel and VAI and is ready to enter the market place. The focus is on the production of low carbon steels for simple applications.
