Based on the characteristic of thin slab casting and direct rolling technology (TSCR), according to precipitation regularity and function of different microalloying elements in steel, a series of microalloyed steel, such as Ti micro-alloyed high strength steel, pipe line steel and high strength automotive steel, have been successfully developed by Zhujiang Steel through properly selecting the kind and adding amount of elements and strictly controlling smelting and rolling process. Many experimental methods , such as SEM, TEM and chemical phase analysis, were used to study the microstructure of steel, especially the precipitation. The strengthening and toughing mechanism of microalloyed steel produced by TSCR were clarified.
