摘要

Small water system managers in rural and remote settings may face special challenges when monitoring drinking water for coliform bacteria due to sample holding times and an absence of overnight delivery services. Other utility managers may wish to have the capability to analyze for coliform bacteria on-site as a matter of convenience. Using the MMO-MUG test, or Colilert~R test, water system personnel can easily establish a Certified Laboratory to meet the monitoring requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act, while improving efficiency and reducing costs. Presented here are the key elements for establishing a Certified Laboratory and the associated costs.
