Simulated Earthquake Test Research of the Isolation and Energy Dissipation Model of Mega-Frame Structure

For studying the anti-seismic property of the mega-frame structure,a model with 1/35 scale is made. Shaking table tests were carried out on three kinds of structural systems,which are base-isolated structure, base-fixed structure and energy dissipation structure. Three ground motions, the in-situ wave, El Centro wave and Taft wave, are adopted with different peak acceleration value of minor earthquake,moderate earthquake and major earthquake of intensity 7. The dynamic properties and seismic responses of these three kinds of model structure are analyzed and compared with each other. It shows that the simulating of prototype structures is very perfect. The ratio of acceleration between base-isolated structure and base-fixed structure is 0.14~0.34,and the ratio of shear force of every story is 0.19~0.52. The test results show that base isolation is very effective for the reduction of seismic response in superstructure in comparison with the performance of base-fixed structure,but the change of acceleration and inter-story drift angle of energy dissipation structure is not obvious. The adoption of isolation can obviously improve anti-seismic property of the structure, to the irregular structure even can improve anti-twist function and enhance the safety of structure under earthquake.
