During the dynamic test of freight cars with large deflection-span ratio such as the heavy duty car, the depressed center flat car and the container flat car, it is found that the vertical acceleration of the loaded car is large. The cause may include several factors such as track line quality, local elastic vibration of the loaded carbody and the dynamics performance of the bogies. By comparing the results of the tested car and the compare car, and by comparing different results according to different design scheme, as well as by comparing the same design scheme with different test place, the conclusion is drawn that the vertical bend stiffness of the loaded carbody is too small. Two pieces of advice are given to solve the problem.
