SPACE MISSION CREATION ISSUES AND THEIR IMPACTS ON RD ACTIVITIES

This paper first analyzes the status of space activities historically and globally. It is concluded that the creation of space missions is strongly required to utilize the accomplished technologies and to activate space industries. Then, the relation between space activities and technology development is described. Relevant technologies should be clarified before the start of a project and be studied to realize those missions. As an example, R&D in telecommunication fields is presented to get some instructions for R&D activities for space.
