Testing the magnesia refractories' apparent porosity with water-medium and coal oil-medium,We discover that the wave of the results with water-medium and coal oil-medium is in the range of the testing error when testing some magnesia refractories such as magnesia carbon bricks and magnalium spinel bricks. So we can test the magnesia refractories' apparent porosity with water-medium to avoid the harm of the coal oil to laboratory assistants and environment.
