Some Issues on the In-situ, High Frequency, Characterisation of Electricity Distribution Networks for EMC Best Practice

The European Commission recently introduced Mandate M313 on the EMC of Conducted Telecommunication Networks. Power Line Communication (PLC) systems, which might be overlaid on an Electricity Distribution Network (EDN), are encompassed by the mandate. This suggests a potential requirement to develop, in-situ, automated, measurement methods in order to determine the relevant parameters of such networks, at High Frequency (HF), with regard to best EMC practice.
