摘要

COSYMA is a probabilistic accident consequence assessment (ACA) code system for use in calculating the risk posed by potential nuclear accidents giving rise to releases to atmosphere. It takes into account the range of conditions which may prevail should an accident occur. Significant endpoints calculated by the code system are: air concentrations and deposition of radionuclides; numbers of people and areas affected by countermeasures; amounts of food banned; duration of countermeasures; doses received with and without countermeasures; individual risks of early and late fatal and non-fatal health effects; numbers of health effects; economic costs of the off-site consequences.
