摘要

Manufacturing technology on closely uniformed less defective matrix formation of continuous SiC fiber-reinforced SiC matrix (SiC/SiC) composites has been developed. As a matrix formation process, polymer impregnation and pyrolysis (PIP) was adopted as it is advantageous in regards of applicability and controllability. Main process parameters in material selection, molding and heating were systematically investigated. As the results, executive methodology to form well-densified and homogeneous matrix in wide types of texture and geometry was established. Important guideline to get high mechanical performance with sufficient hermeticity was also acquired. The outline of these activities is briefly provided in this paper.
