摘要

Using the TM (1997) and ETM~+ (2002) infrared image and multi-spectrum image as basic information source, the coal fire information was picked up based on the coal fire identifying technology and GIS. The changing process of coal fire with time was studied by means of overlay analysis. The result shows that coal fire condition of Wuda mining area in Inner Mongolia changed greatly from 1997 to 2002. The area of coal fire keeps increasing, with an average increase of 16 km~2 per year.
