The electrochemical behaviour of the ferricenium/ ferrocene ([Fc]~+/[Fc]) couple has been studied in three room temperature ionic liquids based on the 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium cation. The diffusion coefficients of [Fc] and [Fc]~+ in these liquids have been determined, and the solvodynamic radii of the diffusing species estimated.
