Traditional material research method inclines to abstract and idealize the object and it fails to meet the further development of material science. If people want to make an important progress in the field of material, they must turn the research method from simplification to complication, and in this process, complex system science can provide some helpful method-tools. Complex System Science emerges with the studied object systems tend to be more complex. Based on the complex system science application in the field of material science, this paper demonstrates that the methods of complex system science have broken through the localization of traditional methods, changed people's thinking mode, provided new methodology tools for study the complex system in the research of natural science, and set up the bridge for the integrated development of different subjects.
