ON SOME PROBLEMS IN THE ANALYSIS OF GLASS CURTAIN WALL SYSTEMS

The purpose of this paper is to give a brief review of some current research of our group on the analysis of glass curtain wall systems. Laminated glass plates have been widely used in glass curtain wall systems, the traditional theory of laminated plates is not suitable for the analysis of laminated glass plates. The first part of this paper introduces a new analytical procedure of laminated glass plates. Wind pressure may be the dominating load of curtain wall system. However, the dynamical effect of wind on the curtain wall systems has not been considered in the current Chinese national standard of glass curtain wall systems. The second part of this paper introduces a new calculation method of the gust effect factors of point-supported glass curtain walls.
