摘要

This paper introduces the accelerated degradation experiment on cross-linked polyethylene cable sample which is immersed in CuSO_4 electrolyte using water-needle method in lab, and the growth of electrochemical tree are observed in the process of aging. The test result reveals that the development of tree aging is very fast in CuSO_4 solution, and there are many brown branch-shaped substances in needle flaws in aging process. After physical and energy spectrum analysis, we can determine that the product contains metallic copper, cuprous ion, sulfur and oxygen element; besides, according to electrochemical theory, we discuss the formation mechanism of electrochemical tree.
