A Batch Manufacturing Inforamtion Management System Based on Multidimensional View Generation and Active Mechanism

In recent years, high functional systems are required for manufacturing information management. Especially for batch manufact uring processes, an indispensable function of manufacturing information management is the capability of associating historiecal data which is periodically acquired form each unit of manufacturing equipment with batches of products which move through the units of equipment. In this paper, a batch manufacturing information management model is proposed in three aspects. First , multidimensional views of the historical data and the batch data are provided to represent associated information about manufacturing equipment and products. Second, an objectoriented data model is provided for representing the complex manufacturing process flexibly. Third, the system is directly connected to a manufacturing process by two layers of databases,t he data acquisition part and the data provision part, and data is organized as the production proceeds for fast retrieval of the views. In addition, implementation methods and ax example application are also described.
