One of the important applications of lidar technologies is the study of the thermal regime of the atmosphere. Suchresearch at the Institute of Atmospheric Optics of the SB RAS has been launched since 1994 in the monitoring mode andis continuing at the present time. Particular attention is paid to the study of appearance of sudden disturbances in themiddle stratosphere, caused by winter stratospheric warming (SW). The results obtained in this field of research canbe found in reference 1. In this paper, we present investigations of the vertical temperature distribution over Tomsk inthe disturbed and calm periods of 2017.
