摘要

A mutual pulse injection-seeding scheme is developed to produce single/dual-wavelength tunable optical short pulses by the use of two Fabry-Perot laser diodes, of which one is gain-switched and the other is DC biased. Wavelength tuning of the optical pulses is achieved by simply adjusting a tunable optical filter while maintaining a constant repetition frequency. The side mode suppression ratio obtained is more than 30dB over a wavelength tuning rang of 19nm for single-wavelength operation, and better than 25dB over the wavelength-tuning range of 12. 1nm for dual-wavelength operation. The system is simple and robust.
