Strength formulas prescribed in "AIJ Standard for Structural Calculation of Steel Reinforced Concrete Structures" specified by Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) are examined. Specimens are subjected to axial compressive force not only with equal end eccentricity but also with unequal end eccentricity in column ends. It can be concluded from the comparison; (1) In case of unequal end moment, the strength formula gives appropriate strength on the whole, though it evaluates experimental maximum load conservatively as the moment gradient increases, (2) In case of equal end moment, the formula provides the accurate estimation of the experimental maximum load.
