摘要

Nowadays durability, and especially prevention of steel corrosion, has become a critical issue in the management of reinforced concrete (RC) structures. Furthermore, designers of RC structures are now aware that prevention of steel corrosion has to be taken into account since the design stage. Therefore there is a need for tools aimed at the design of durable structures. In the last years, a large number of models have been proposed in the literature to describe corrosion-related damage of concrete structures, which allow a quantitative evaluation of the service life of a structure with respect to reinforcement corrosion. Often, these models have a basic drawback in lacking reliable data for the parameters used in the evaluation of service life, and also they require the knowledge of parameters characterizing the materials properties. This paper describes the preliminary results of a research carried out on concretes with a wide range of compositions, with the aim of collecting several parameters related to the durability performance of RC structures and studying the relationships between them.
