摘要

Composite sway frames with partial-strength joints offer a flexible use for the buildings and minimise the reinforcement in the slab as well as the labour costs for welding. However a certain ductility of the joint is required due to the rotation within the partial-strength joint. It is shown how to optimise the available rotation of the joint by e.g. an enlargement of the zone of plastification in order to meet the system requirements. Based on the knowledge on the available rotations the beamline method forms a verification procedure that allows also for an optimisation of the structural system.
