摘要

Peatland regulation functions differ much in space and time, depending on a stage and rate of peatland development, climatic situation and natural conditions of a territory. Additionally changing priorities in ecological policy, temporal and spatial differences of peatlands use and threats to them lead to revise both an approach of peatland functions evaluation and obtained results. Peatland regulation functions are associated primarily with water and carbon cycle, which present good illustration of spatial and temporal changes of their assessment. A strong need for proper account of spatial and temporal aspects for peatlands wise use strategy is shown.
