DEVELOPMENT OF A MODEL FOR THE ANALYSIS OF CARBON FLUXES FROM IRISH PEATLANDS

The C dynamics within a peatland ecosystem are complex. The methodology outlined proposes a simplified mechanistic model of those dynamics as a tool for C cycle analysis. Further development of this model approach with respect to its integration with GIS data to produce an inventory of Irish peatland GHG fluxes is the logical conclusion of the work.
