This study compares peat surface carbon dioxide and methane fluxes in three peatland management types in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Gas flux rates in selectively logged and recovering forests were about the same magnitude, but remained lower in drained fallow peat. In terms of the greenhouse effect upholding gas emissions, CO_2 was clearly more important from these two gases. Both tree growing sites resulted highest cumulative CO_2 emissions during dry season, where as obvious cumulative CH_4 emissions took place only in wet peat. Annual gas fluxes in fallow peat remained small.
